Know that these aren’t easy pills to swallow but the healing from it will come through

What if the hand that raised us didn’t have the proper maintenance
What if the things I was taught came from a plan of strangers

Hard to manoeuvre through a room of darkness when you’re an angel
Why is it unknown that the roots where I was grown have been pulled out and left me anxious

We question the life of adults when their story has ripped out pages
How can we rise above when its the very same system that keeps us in cages

I’ve seen the stages, shock, denial, guilt,
and these are the same stones that they expect us to start with to build?

Well we all know what happens when there isn’t a firm foundation
But we can’t allow the past to strain us away from our own dedication
